3D scanning can be helpful for different reasons:
- You need to replicate an object that is not produced anymore
- You want to import a 3D file of an actual object in a 3D design (CAD) software
- You would like to 3D scan a person or a part of the human body to create a sculpture or a medical device like orthesis or prosthesis.
- You work in animation or virtual reality and you need the digital rendering of the 3D scan.
- You made a prototype out of clay and you would like to 3D print it with our 3D printers in a specific material.
- You need to create a digital repository of items and artefacts for historic records like in museums.
- You would like to duplicate a rare art piece (with the approval of the owner/artist)
- You want to accurately measure tolerances of your object and compare it to the design specifications.
